It's a wrap!

Just completed a very successful four day shoot for my latest project, a PBS documentary about Walter Hickel, two-time governor of Alaska and Interior Secretary under Nixon. Here is a group shot of the crew, director and producer with Malcolm Roberts, a long-time Hickel aide.

I still have many more months of work on this (we shot in AK and DC and will now shoot in Los Angeles and Santa Barbara, then back to AK) but it was definitely a relief to have a successful shoot on our home turf!

Homer

Took a little break from the big city before things get busy with shooting interviews for my PBS documentary in Anchorage next week. It felt like spring was definitely trying to happen in Homer! Nice and sunny. This photo was taken from the Homer spit. Homer is such a gorgeous place, and the people are so laid back and friendly. It was nice to have a mini "vacation."

It's starting to warm up a tiny bit, so I have to make sure I get photos of all of my favorite icicle formations and frozen things around the house before they disappear!

Prudhoe Bay in winter

Had an amazing experience helping a National Geographic photographer and his documentary crew out in Deadhorse for two and a half days last week. That's all I could do because of my "regular" job, but it was worth it! One afternoon we flew out to a homestead on the Colville River Delta in an old 1950's Otter. Really quite an adventure, chilly, but great! Read more about the project at http://www.viapanam.org/viapanam/.
