Not sure who to credit for the picture, but the quote is from Michael Seitzman:
Stop voting for people you want to have a beer with. Stop voting for folksy. Stop voting for people who remind you of your neighbor. Stop voting for the ideologically intransigent, the staggeringly ignorant, and the blazingly incompetent.
Vote for someone smarter than you. Vote for someone who inspires you. Vote for someone who has not only traveled the world but who has also shown a deep understanding and compassion for it. The stakes are real and they're terrifyingly high. This election matters. It really matters. Let me say that one more time. This. Really. Matters.

I agree entirely. Canadians are going to the polls too and I wish people would vote on the issues not just the advertising.
U.S. elections have a greater impact on the world than Canadian elections. We watch them very closely.
I can say we weren't happy with the outcome of the last two elections and the world is certainly living with the consequences of the Bush government's poor fiscal management.

One of the Anchorage posters said it so well, "Vote issues, not gender"
What's wrong with 'elite?' I don't want someone just like me in office: I want someone better educated, more experienced...the best person for an incredibly difficult job.

Americans hate anyone who cannot speak English and mistrust anyone who has it mastered

Hi, another Canadian woman here.
I say thet we should confiscate Sarah Palin's membership in the "League Of Women".Henceforth, she is no longer a female!
Thanks so much for speaking out, we also have a looming election with a conservative idiot at the helm. Let's hope for the best...
and vote accordingly.

Laura~~
Hope you don't mind, but I took that quote and forwarded it to a whole slew of people. I just hope that they don't pawn it off as "Chris is just spouting off again" but actually think about it!
Sadly, I don't have much faith in people from Outside. :-(

This post is on point.
I'm from Canada, and am absolutely enthralled by this election. While it means absolutely nothing, I'm an Obama supporter.
It's time for a change.
