I am living locally this summer, as opposed to living remotely for Wildlife Tech work, because I got a great job that I couldn't pass up. It's Associate Producing a documentary about youth drinking in Native villages and its consequences.  It involves filming in 10 villages, which will be interesting.  Right now I'm living in Wasilla, so the commute into Anchorage isn't too much fun, but I can't complain.  This is the view from my back deck last night at 11:00PM!! AMAZING!

This is my tortoise friend. He really LOVES broccoli. He used to be really tiny, as you can see in the third picture down.  His owner had no idea how big he was going to get but has been entirely accomodating, upgrading his terrariums the bigger he gets, plus he roams free, too. He has dog and cat roommates, and they all get along great!

Did anyone catch Sarah Palin's "shout out to the troops" last night on the Colbert Report?  It was just one of the many varied projects I was tagged to work on here in Anchorage.  She was very willing and accommodating, although I am 99.9% sure she had no idea what the Colbert Report was.  Here's me with our sound and camera guy (looking very Alaskan with full beard) and camera guy again with the familiar Palin crab and bear skin couch.  We were in and out within 25 minutes, as requested by her press secretary, so I don't have any compelling Sarah Stories, but at least I have the pics to prove I was there!
